Before reaching my destination, I partially knew what to expect. It was one of the most remote and lawless places I had ever seen up to that point.
By ‘lawless,’ I mean that in Iceland, rules are written by nature, and humans are merely accessories here.
I knew it would have been a challenging and wild place, but I also knew that many of the things I appreciate most in the world could be found there: powerful, cold and cruel nature, water, ice, wind, and all the elements in their fullest expression and beauty.
I wasn’t disappointed.
